My honey moon in Meixco!!!!

Ok....so it has taken me awhile to get to these...but oh well...Only a couple of months...

My wife and I were married in July of last year...The honey moon was postponed until the middle of Nov. simply because the summer time is peak hurricane season for the Caribbean side of Mexico. We went to a little island called Isla Mujeras, which is a 15 min. ferry ride from the city of Cancun. This island was amazing!!!!! The hotel was such a good location it was on its own little island, ok more like a sand bar, but you get what I mean :-) We had such a great time and we met a couple who just got married that were honeymooning as well...so we hung out with them the whole time...it was alot of fun.

I have to admit we did not get any photos of us together really, I was just behind the camera and we pretty much just hung out on the beach the whole time...which is what we wanted...so a bunch of beach pictures in chairs with drinks in hand, gets a bit old after a while and I hate being photographed (so for everyone I photograph that hates being photographed...I feel your pain and thanks for being a good sport)...I love taking pictures so much, but hate being in them...So my wife is not to happy with me on that, I know, I know I am a terrible husband...but oh well, LOL...

(Any potential brides looking to do the destination thing in Mexico, I highly recommend it, it is so very beautiful!...and I would be happy to shoot the wedding down there, LOL...you would have some insider knowledge)

Anyways on with the pictuers....

Why not start with my lovely wife...here she is out in the water jumping waves...

It was a bit gloomy the first few days we were there...but in its own right, it sure is pretty

How about a non-gloomy sunset shot?

Here is my wife with the couple we met, Josh and Donna...We were at a place called Dolphin Discovery, where we got to swim and play with Dolphins (not in this pool though, LOL...this was just while we were waiting)...one of the most amazing experiences of my life. *side note: * I love animals, I mean love them!!!! So to be able to swim with Dolphins was so awesome!
Speaking of Dolphins, while we were at dolphin discovery, there was a 5 day old baby dolphin...here he is learning to surface with mother...You can see her under him, pushing him up...this was amazing to witness!!!!
Again, I love animals and since we are talking about Dolphin Discovery, these pelicans were everywhere there, just chilling out and taking it all in, it seemed...Very cool looking birds.
Again my extremely sexy wife...Her and I are so different...this was Caribbean night at our resort and they had music playing with activities going on, so she was up there dancing and participating in the activities and having a good time...As you can tell I am not up there...LOL...
Conga Line!!!!!!!

Josh and Donna dancing as well...enjoying being newly married...He is up there with his wife...way to make me look bad ;-)
Here is Juan our activities director of the resort getting into it and getting everyone into it...he was so great, he did stuff everyday all day in the way of activities!
A shot of Donna up there just having a good time!
The super crazy thing about the island we stayed on...is you can rent a golf cart and drive around the whole island with it...and I am not talking about special golf cart roads, I am talking about main roads...like go walk out of your house and take a golf cart to you local super market, LOL...just crazy...

So we did this on one day...Josh and Donna got one with their package that they booked at our resort so they were nice enough to invite us to come along with them and we did :-)

On the driving tour of the island, there was a place where you could pay 10 pesos and pet a 6ft nurse shark...So we all did, here is my wife taking here turn.
On that same day, we stopped at a turtle farm, where they had thousands of turtles and raised them...here are some babies...how freakin' cute are they?
Another part of the island...looks like an old school Baywatch lifeguard tower, but I have no idea what it is...

Ok, so on to the one big thing we did while we were in Mexico, we went the the Myan ruins of Chitzen Itza...

Here is my wife standing by some of the ruins...

Some skulls carved into the rock...anyone who knows me, knows I love skulls...I am not crazy, ok I promise...I just think they are cool, LOL...

This little guy was just hanging out on the ruins, just doing his thing...

Here is one of the pryamids there...they were huge...we were not able to climb up them...

Photography Reality TV...

Ok, so I enjoy reality TV... and Ron Dawson from F-Stop Beyond has created something uber geeky for us photographers...It is called the longest day...it has just about every big time photographer in the wedding industry in it...these people are the star athletes of the photography world...

The project is that there are 2 teams of photographers and they have to create a short video and once finished those videos are voted on by the people and the winner is then choosen.

So here is the most recent video...the teams are figuring out their idea for thier short vid they are making.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

So we have had record snowfall here...the biggest snow storm in 40 years...I have been snowed in...People here, do not realize how long it takes to stop on snow and ice...so they drive like crazy...so I just stay home (plus, the night before it snowed, my back tire went flat, so I have a spare on...which really means no driving).

I have been dying to get out and do a little shooting...I am slightly limited on where I can go with-in walking distance...but it was fun and I love walking in this stuff...So here are some shots....some are me actually being a photographer and being creative, LOL...while others are just a few to show the conditions....

These poor ducks, this is the only place in the water that was not frozen..the patch of water is only about 5'x5', and they have been swimming in it for the past few days...poor guys.

Look at all the snow...Good luck getting the car out :)

These red berries on the tree were so cool...

Cold beautiful downtown day

The mom of this family contacted me about shooting their awesome family...This time of year is really hit and miss and no matter what way you slice it, so very cold...well for taking photos outside, anyways. We were not sure what we were going to get for this day when we planned it and me out of town on my belated honeymoon, I was not sure what the weather was going to be like when I got home, the shoot was the day after I came back...but as soon as I got home I checked the weather and it was going to be partly cloudy...I can not complain about that in Nov. So I emailed her and they were ready to brave the cold...and they did and seemed to not mind at all...which was so wonderful of them...they were such good sports. They wanted candid photos, and that is what I do :)...I had so much fun shooting their family. They were so nice and as you can tell from the photos, their children are absolutely adorable! Thanks again guys, for braving the cold and being totally awesome with it!

Sisters school photos....

I apologize at my lack of blogging...Around these parts, this is the slow time of year...

In any event...My sister wanted me to shoot her school photos...no she is not a senior, but hey when you have a photographer as a brother you might as well have him shoot your school photos...alot better then those ones they take at school...LOL...So we had a real quick session shooting, as we were pressed for time...Here are a couple from the shoot...(I am dating my self here...but she has grown up so very fast!)
